D Smoke – No Commas (Vevo Ctrl)

D Smoke is one cool cat. Until recently, the 34-year-old brother of R&B singer SiR was teaching Spanish and Music Theory in Inglewood, LA. On a whim, last year, he entered the Netflix rap competition ‘Rhythm and Flow,’ and walked away its winner. In the months since, to further reveal his bona fides, he’s gone to work big-time, dropping the ‘Inglewood High’ EP, an impressive debut and a proud acknowledgement of his educator days. At the start of 2020, fans also received ‘Black Habits,’ which he deems “the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly of this black experience.” Have fun settling in to the breakout rapper’s performance of “No Commas,” from the new album. And stay close, there’s more to come.
